Greetings Parents! We want your family to consider us your extended family. We must work as a team to encourage and support your child’s growth and development. Support your child’s class through involvement and participation. Come have lunch with us, read a story, share an interest, or just come and have fun with us! We continue to empower your child through learning with GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards) Curriculum. The GELDS is geared toward providing quality standards for children ages birth to age five preparing them for higher education. Children learn more through play. We encourage social interaction between your child and his or her peers and teachers for cognitive and emotional growth as well as intellectual and physical development. For assessment, Little Angels Academy uses AGES AND STAGES. This assessment assists in meeting your child’s developmental needs.
All children will go through the Ages and Stages Assessment to ensure that they are meeting their developmental needs. Children will start transitioning to their new class a week before their birthday.
Your child will always need the following items in their cubby. (Please, label EVERYTHING!!)
Remember: We are active learners and sometimes engage in wet/messy activities.
Check your child’s cubby daily for items that need to be taken home, as well as replaced occasionally.
Additional items for your child:
Little Angels Academy will not be responsible for parents’ failure to take their child’s water cups or bottles home.
Books from home are always welcome. Backpacks are allowed in the classroom unless otherwise advised or preferred by the teacher. Outside foods are not permitted in the center or classrooms. If your child has special dietary needs, please see the director(s). We will need a copy of your child’s list of food allergies as specified by the physician.
Be sure to label all of your child’s belongings (clothes, cups, hats, shoes, blanket, underwear, etc.) with your child’s first and last name.
Children and parents must wash their hands with soap and warm water upon entering the classroom. This is the best way to prevent germs from spreading in the classroom.
Birthday Celebrations: Birthday celebrations are welcome after naptime. Please, no chocolate, peanut butter, or nuts of any kind, as many children are allergic to such.
Note: Any item with a KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN label must not be placed inside your child’s cubby. Please give it to your child’s teacher or a member of the management team.
The key to parent/provider teamwork is communication. Communication is essential for positive outcomes as a team.
As your child’s care provider, it is our responsibility to inform you about our training dates, holidays, and emergencies to keep parents and guardians well informed. We check on your child periodically to know how he or she is doing, but please be advised that it is your responsibility to inform us when your child is coming in late, has a doctor's appointment, or will be absent. This information assists us in keeping head counts for attendance and mealtimes. We appreciate your understanding.
Parent/Teacher conferences are used to monitor your child’s stage and developmental milestones. During such a time, you will receive a notification from your child’s caregiver and this form:
Little Angels Academy must handle illness or injury to protect the health of all the children we serve. To that end, any child, ill or injured, will be provided with a mat or cot away from the other children and closely supervised by one of our staff members until they can be taken home.
While it is never convenient for a child to be ill, we ask that our parents understand that it cuts down on the overall incidence of illness in the center and ensures more comfort and care for your child when we heed the early warning signs of illness.
The conditions under which you will be asked to make immediate alternative care arrangements are:
At Little Angels Academy, we follow a step-by-step approach to help children learn conflict resolution skills in a supportive environment:
These steps help children learn effective conflict resolution and build confidence in solving problems constructively.
Parent meetings are held two times a year. The first meeting is held in July and the second meeting is held in November. These meetings provide an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress, ask questions, and share their thoughts with the school management.
At Little Angels Academy, we have an open-door policy that encourages parents to volunteer in their children’s classrooms. Activities such as reading, arts and crafts, storytelling, games, and more help promote the developmental domains of children. We also host events like Fall Festivals, After-School Activities, and Thanksgiving celebrations. We are working on hosting more activities such as Book Fairs, Game Nights, and International Nights to showcase different cultures and talents.
Questionnaires are given to parents seasonally to better understand how we are doing and how we can better serve the children individually. We value the feedback from parents to help improve our programs and make sure every child gets the best care possible.
At Little Angels Academy, nutrition and physical activity are essential for a child’s mental, physical, and emotional development. We have partnered with Health M Powers to further our knowledge of promoting children's overall well-being. During indoor and outdoor times, we have implemented physical activities into their daily schedules, which last between 60-90 minutes each day. These activities provide children with opportunities to engage in healthy habits while interacting with other children. We always encourage parent involvement in promoting these healthy habits!
Little Angels Academy Inc. will be closed on the following holidays:
There are times when staff members will need to attend training sessions that will benefit both children and parents as mandated by the state. Additionally, staff may also have medical and/or dental appointments. During such times, proper arrangements will be made to ensure continuity of care for all children at the center.
At Little Angels Academy, we promote family-style eating to help children improve their communication skills and vocabulary. All teachers are required to sit and eat with the children, engaging in meaningful conversations during mealtime. Parents are encouraged to join us for meals and participate in family-style eating alongside their child to foster a sense of community.
We appreciate your interest in joining our Little Angels family. We hope your tour was informative and assists you in making an important decision regarding your child’s early learning experience. Our tour aims to show that Little Angels Academy is a secure, nurturing, and family-oriented environment. We are dedicated to bringing out the best in every child by providing long-term learning advantages and a commitment to educating the whole child.
